To implement this project two essential things are necessary. First of all is funding, and secondly, sponsorship of one or several academic institutions, such as Universities from either the United States or Europe. One thinks of such major Universities, to mention a few, as Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge or participation from Continental universities in Germany , Italy and France. These institutions may be able to supply funding in a limited fashion or be represented on the project staff in some capacity. The staff will need a work place in Florence with access to a Library and equipment for use in research and then editing the collection of 500 inscriptions already transcribed and indexed. Long term funding, however, may have to come from other sources such as Foundations where solicitations may be necessary.
